The Fall foliage may be blowing away, but beauty and talent still abound in the studios of the extremely popular Country Christmas self-guided Tour. The Cedar and Yellow Point Artisans’ Association 21st annual tour runs November 19-22 starts at 10 am and ends at 5 pm in Cedar and Yellow Point areas, 15 minutes south of Nanaimo.

Come visit us this year for your inspired Christmas giving. Feast your eyes on island-produced creativity,
and take in a unique Christmas experience. This tour remains an important part of the artisan community of Cedar & Yellow Point for it is the only time of year they receive the wide public exposure that makes the tour an exciting and integral part of their community.

Some of the Mid- Islands' most unique and celebrated artisans welcome you to enjoy the wonderful personal setting that they have created for you at each one of their studios, shops and farms. Each artisan will be hosting their own location, displaying their work, discussing and demonstrating techniques, and answering questions.

This year visitors and locals will have the perfect opportunity to get ahead of the Christmas shopping rush as the Tour will feature over 26 individual artisans and their original work for the public to view and purchase, some open just for the tour dates!
Some of the better-known artisans on this year’s tour include: Hazelwood Herb Farm, JoVic Pottery, Yellow Point Cranberries and Barton-Leier Gallery. New to the tour this year are: Cedar by the Sea Quilts, Kate’s Kraft’s Uniquely and Boat Harbour Artisans.

Take this scenic Christmas road trip to check out a great selection of woodworking, textile art, weaving, Native art, jewellery, paintings, prints, hand painted furniture, stained glass works, mosaics, pottery, digital art, birdfeeders, birdhouses, Christmas crafts and much more. From the herbal gardens and cranberry fields, sample many of the homemade kitchen, bath, and beauty products.
Plan a looping route that can be done in a day, take a break at one of the local pubs and restaurants indicated on the map or plan to stay at local lodgings and make it a weekend you won’t soon forget!

Free brochures with maps make every studio easy to locate identifying each business by number and what you’ll find at each location. Brochures with maps are available at Cedar, Ladysmith and Chemainus 49th Parallel Grocery stores, Cedar Village businesses, all Mid-Island Libraries, and of course from any artisan that is on the tour. Brochures are also available at all south and mid-island Visitor Info centers.
