Dickens Christmas Craft Fair

A community tradition since the mid-70’s, Dickens is one of the longest established craft fairs in Victoria. The Dickens Fair, presented by the James Bay Market Society, enjoys a loyal following among vendors and buyers alike, with a reputation for quality crafts, reasonable prices, and that intangible community feeling which is the hallmark of James Bay.
The event will begin before you even get in the door with fresh seafood and some local winter produce. Inside there will be hot beverages and fresh food (and even some fresh popcorn) where you can buy lunch to sustain you before you shop. The gymnasium will be filled with vendors selling a wide range of items including jewelry, jams, festive baking, honey, candles, baby items, pottery, cards, knitting, scarves, clothing, felting, photography, paintings, bath and beauty items and other unique artisan products.
There will be some live music as well as a children’s activity so the event will be fun for the whole family.
Your attendance will help support local artisans who make products that are homemade, handmade, and homegrown (and keep your consumer dollars in the community) and the donation you make at the door will help support the James Bay Market Society and its other events throughout the year including Seedy Saturday and the James Bay Community Market during the summer.
