Victoria has a long and proud history of military service, wartime industry, and homefront activism.

Experience everything from the historic military vehicles of the Ashton Armoury, to the stories of shipbuilding in Esquimalt during WWII from the Maritime Museum, to tales of wartime flight school from the BC Aviation Museum, to the role of Craigdarroch Castle as a military hospital in 1919, and many more engaging, exciting, and emotional stories. This is Victoria’s military heritage from every angle, all in one place for the first time, drop in anytime from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse will also open its new exhibit that day in the casemates barracks, called 100 Years of Remembrance, featuring the family wartime stories of the very staff who run the site. It is full of personal tales of love and loss, and invites visitors to ask the question: “Who do WE remember?”
