Did you know � 85% of British Columbians surveyed were in favour of organ donation? But only 17% have registered to be organ donors? This huge gap between �will do� and �did do� is threatening the lives of the 2,800 people in BC on kidney dialysis. They must wait up to 5 years for a new kidney. Some don�t last that long.

The Kidney Foundation is committed to closing this gap and YOU CAN HELP. The Victoria Kidney Walk will take place this year at Clover Point on Sunday August 12th. The Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC Branch will celebrate its 5th annual Give the Gift of Life Kidney Walks in August and September of 2012. In year one, a fledgling group of 7 communities successfully came together to make a difference in the lives of kidney patients and their families. In 2012, 19 communities around BC join forces to champion this extraordinary grassroots event. These walks have expanded to include dragon boat teams and even competitive runs in select communities.
