2014 VIU CREATE (The Celebration of Research Excellence and Knowledge Transfer Event)

The purpose of this event is to showcase research and scholarly activity that is conducted by VIU students (any student, any program, any year!). Come and discover the innovative projects that students are engaged in at VIU. This event is open to the general public and the VIU community (family and friends welcome!).

CREATE aims to:
-advance the profile of student research and scholarship at VIU;
-give students who are already engaged in research and scholarship: public speaking, presentation and poster making skills;
-spark interest and "research curiosity";
-enable networking and the exchange of ideas, methodologies, etc.;
-provide a better understanding of what research and scholarly activity is and why it is important at VIU.

To register in the poster presentations, the scholarship slam, 15 minute presentations and the Celebration of Research Ceremony visit the CREATE website (www.viu.ca/research/create) and complete and hand in a registration form no later than March 6th at 4:00pm.

Event Schedule:
*Poster presentations and displays in the upper cafeteria (Bldg 300) 10:00-4:00pm
*15 minute presentations in the Royal Arbutus Room (Bldg 300) around lunchtime
*The Celebration of Research Awards Ceremony in the Royal Arbutus Room (Bldg 300) will happen in the afternoon on March 27. The Scholarship Slam will be happening at the beginning of this event.
