Project LIV your LIFE & the Gorge Rowing and Paddling Centre (GRPC) have paired up to keep girls in school!
Dragonboat to Empower Girls Worldwide ~ Last Year we helped 220 Girls!

Imagine you couldn't go to school because you had your period!?
For just $5 you can provide a cloth pad period kit to a girl who otherwise has no resources. Most women in 3rd world countries have none and they will bleed right where they are onto their chair. They are ridiculed when classmates see their stained clothes. Most girls will stay home to avoid the embarrassment. 5-7 days per month a girl is missing her school. 20% of girls become drop-outs, get pregnant and will live her life as a young mother continuing the cycle in poverty.

You can help � No experience necessary to paddle your way into making a difference
You will be guided and instructed in a Dragon Boat spending about one hour on the water and finishing up in an exciting race.
You can also create your own team within your school.
All crews will be guided and instructed by a GRPC coach.

**AND..The Gorge Rowing and Paddling Centre is offering a Youth Summer Dragon Boat Program. This will be a 9 week program consisting of a 2 hour training session every Wednesday & Friday from July 3rd to August 30, 2013 for youth 13-19. For participating in the Project LIV your LIFE event you can attend this program for the whole summer for a reduced cost of $50.00 per person.
