Her voice has been described as silky, seductive, powerful, yet intimate. Pinning down a label on Vancouver-based singer songwriter Flora Ware is a difficult task. Retro torch singer, piano pop balladeer, sultry jazz diva Ms. Wares sound and style is as multifaceted and intriguing as her lifelong background in performance. This triple-threat reflects her breadth of experience in her live concerts, which have drawn comparisons to Norah Jones, Sade, and Vancouver Island's own jazz icon, Diana Krall.
Flora approaches music with a mature and sensuous touch, and moves and delights listeners of all ages, whether in an intimate club setting or for a music festival crowd of thousands. In the past year she has played numerous concerts all over the province, and recorded a new single with the help of a Factor recording grant. Her 'star', as they say, definitely seems to be on the rise. Joining her for this concert are Victoria's own John MacArthur on guitar, Damian Graham on drums, and Victoria-born-and-raised Sam Shoichet on bass. Flora's concert at the club last Spring was close to sold out, so don't miss your chance this time around to catch her while she's in town. For more information, visit www.floramusic.com
