Art Show: Reflection on Values

Artists: Sonja Billiard, Frances Deverell, Patricia Robison, Dyane Brown
This show is an exploration of values. In a world that is increasingly divisive and violent towards both people and the planet, we are challenged to balance our despair and rage with what feeds our spirit.
Audre Lorde tells us, “The work of the artist is to turn her rage into flowers.” We grow flowers, we paint, we create music, we share laughter with friends and we hold our loved ones close.
Much of the art in this show expresses what we individually value.
Some paintings such as Frances Deverell’s painting, “After the Fire” represent a juxtaposition of values, Love of the land, Sorrow for the loss, Admiration of Nature’s resilience, Hope that we can do better.
We invite you to join us for timeout from your cares, bring friends and enjoy a dialogue about art or just have a cup of tea.
