The BC Games Society was created by former premier Bill Bennett who believed in providing “an opportunity to bring all parts of BC together, large and small communities, in the spirit of sport and friendship”. Since 1978, the BC Winter and BC Summer Games have been held in 38 communities an involved over 350,000 participants and volunteers.

2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the BC Games. It is an important opportunity to remember the past, to recognize successes and contributors, and to renew friendships and commitment of the importance of the BC Games for our province.

The Cowichan community and volunteers are energized and ready to stage Games for athletes, coaches, and officials from across the province.

BC’s best emerging high performance talents have registered and are ready to be part of this celebration of sport and community which runs July 19-22.

The following events are open to the public and are free of charge. More details will be posted as they are available.
