The Nanaimo Youth Choir will perform at Nanaimo’s Bethlehem Retreat Centre’s candle lit Labyrinth Walk on Solstice night December 21st from 7- 9 pm at 2371 Arbot Rd. in Nanaimo, BC.

This unique Nanaimo tradition has been a special event for the past four years and provides a relaxing break to the busy Christmas season in a tranquil lakeside setting. The Labyrinth Walk admission is by donation and will help the gifted Nanaimo Youth Choir (NYC) realize the dream of performing by invitation at Carnegie Hall and will place Nanaimo, BC, Canada on one of the world’s most prestigious New York City concert stages.

Carol Matthews, co- chair of the NYC to NYC campaign to raise funds for the choir’s trip, has been the speaker at the Bethlehem Retreat Centre Solstice Labyrinth event each year. She is thrilled that the Nanaimo Youth Choir is able to be part of this wonderful event. The Bethlehem Retreat Centre has made the generous offer that all donations made at the Solstice Labyrinth Walk event will go to support the choir’s efforts to go to Carnegie Hall.

Carol, who is also a Nanaimo Conservatory of Music board member, is the author of two labyrinth books, Questions for Ariadne: The Labyrinth and the End of Times and Reflections on the C- Word: At the Centre of the Cancer Labyrinth.  Matthews will speak again at this year’s event. After the choir’s performance and Labyrinth walk refreshments will be served. Enjoy a special evening and join the choir for this Solstice Nanaimo tradition while supporting a worthy cause.
