A few weeks into the New Year and the days are starting to feel longer as the winter solstice is behind us. The sun periodically graces us with its presence, sharing its warmth with those whom live below. People often spend these damp dark months hermiting in their respectable dwellings with cups of freshly brewed tea and stacks of wool blankets.
BC folk/roots and pop/folk singer/songwriters Brett Wildeman and Jodi Doidgehave decided to inject their warmth into communities on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast, embarking on the ‘Cold Hands & Warm Hearts Tour’. The musicians will be breaking from convention as they collect warm clothes and blankets for cold weather shelters and non-profits organizations during their travels.
Let these musicians warm your hearts and ease your winter doldrums as they hit the road with their instruments and travel mugs filled with hot beverages in tow!
The tour is proudly sponsored by Townsite Brewing, Sitka & Ethical Bean Coffee.
About The Artists:
Brett Wildeman is a guitar strumming, nature loving musician and cyclist who shares his passion for music and the environment through his unique projects and creative initiatives.
Wildeman is committed to minimizing his carbon footprint by choosing non-traditional, environmentally sensitive means of powering his tours, and whenever possible hits the road on bike (and in some cases sailboat). Cycling has played a significant part in the musician’s life, providing time for reflection, contemplation and musical musings.
His artistry and ‘raw coastal folk’ sound has evolved over the course of three recordings (two EPs and one LP). During 2014 Brett has been immersed in song-writing, performance, and studio sessions, while building his repertoire for a forthcoming release (slated for 2015).
Wildeman enjoys performing in a full range of venues, from a solo performance in an intimate coffee house setting to lighting up the dance floor with his band.
The future is looking bright for this young folk musician as he continues to hone his artistry while living in harmony with the planet.
