Fire has played an essential part in defining us as a species. All cultures around the world have learned to create fire with only what they find in nature. Reconnect with your past and learn what creating fire with your hands truly means and learn to carry the fire wherever you go.

Carry the Fire course is fun, informative, and inspiring. This course is a great ‘add-on’ to Wilderness First Aid (WFA), Basic Outdoor and Survival Skills (BOSS), or as a stand-alone. This course will teach you how to create fire with what we find in nature as well as how to build, control, and extinguish fire correctly. It will include such skills as:

    Physics of fire
    Friction fire (bow drill and hand drill)
    Making your own bow drill
    Basic bushcraft techniques
    Stone-on-stone fire
    Identifying the best local tinder
    Creating natural cordage
    Creating charred materials
    Fires for different uses
    History of fire
    Maintaining fire
    Extinguishing fire
