Choosing Hope: A Mother's story of Love, Loss and Survival
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
In 2001, Ginnys world turned upside down when her 17-year-old son Kelty committed suicide, no longer able to cope with his crippling depression. Choosing Hope takes readers through Ginnys years as a young bride and mother, the joy she experienced in raising her two children, the agony of losing them both, and the decision to dedicate her life to their legacy.
Since Keltys death, Ginny has raised more than $5 million through The Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation to fight depression-related suicide by young people. ENOUGH is ENOUGH is part of this legacy to change the landscape of mental health in Canada.
An ideal story for parents, health care workers, and teens themselves, this chronicle conveys the message that even in the wake of overwhelming emotional trauma, there is hope.
All Ginnys royalties will be donated to the ENOUGH is ENOUGH campaign and The Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation.
Join us November 25th when we welcome Ginny to Victoria.
While there is no cost to attend this event, donations will be taken at the door for the Foundation.
