Concussion Awareness Session for all Athletes, Parents, Coaches and Referees. Hockey players and other athletes in contact sports and the general public are now becoming more aware of the serious effects of an un-treated/un-identified concussion.

Acres Hockey and Brain Navigators invites all athletes, parents, coaches, and referees to an educational afternoon that has the potential to save a life. The session will be in the Multi-Purpose Room.
Colleen Butler of Nanaimo and Director of Brain Navigators is a survivor of a concussion and has recently published her book, Concussion Recovery: Rebuiding the Injured Brain. Butler has recently returned from an international speaking tour. See : www.brainnavigators.com
Acres Hockey is the first concussion prevention focussed hockey school in the world. Acres Hockey 2012 continues its focus on training young players in proper checking techniques and awareness of brain injury symptoms and recovery to reduce the incidence of serious concussions in hockey. All proceeds raised from your donations at this session go directly towards funding Brain Injury awareness and brain injury education programs.
Knowledge of the serious effects of brain injury is the focus here. Open to everyone with a concern or need to know more about the effects of untreated/ unidentified concussions.
