The Cowichan Valley Shakespeare Festival 2019 is in its preparatory phase! The plays will be: "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Measure for Measure".

Plus, there is Immortal Memory, a play by Bob Norris planned for later this spring that you can also audition for.

Lots of roles for actors of all ages, plus lots of opportunities to volunteer behind the scenes!

Here's the info:

Auditions for Shakespeare's "Much Ado about Nothing" (director Kimberley Phillips), "Measure for Measure" (director Alex Gallacher) and "Immortal Memory" (director Bob Norris):

2 LOCATIONS

Wednesday, 20 February 6:30pm and Sunday, 24 February 2:00 pm
in the Shawnigan Lake Community Centre (2804 Shawnigan Lake Rd, Shawnigan Lake)

Tues 19 Feb 19, 6:30- 9:30pm and Sat 23 Feb, 2 pm-5 pm in the Clements Centre in Duncan.

No need to prepare a part - but you can certainly see if there is a part that you think suits you and let the directors know. Lots of speaking and non-speaking roles for men and women of all ages. Kids are also encouraged to come!

A message from Kimberley Phillips, director of Much Ado About Nothing:

"I will be making my Shawnigan Player’s directorial debut with Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing! With a cast of 15+, we look forward to auditioning all ages for this romantic comedy. Much Ado is a story of wit, honour, love and gossip! There will also be the addition of a “kid’s chorus” as we have always loved having younger thespians in our productions."

Immortal Memory, Director Bob Norris

This is a play about Robert Burns that Bob Norris has adapted
from historical novels written by James Barke. It's a warm, funny poignant drama.

Roles : All ages are approximate and flexible. Two of the young women have traditional songs.
If you are interested in a singing role you could prepare a short folk song or any song to be done acapella.
