The movie Danny from North Korea is the latest media project to be released by the organization Liberty in North Korea. This film will be shown for the first time locally on Saturday, Nov 9th, 7 pm, at the Willow Pt Hall as part of the Willow Point Film Fest sponsored by the Centre for Spiritual Living. Representatives from LINK will be on hand to answer questions and facilitate discussion. Doors open at 6:30, suggested donation is $10. Popcorn and refreshments available.
The LINK organization uses all forms of media to raise awareness of the plight of the people of North Korea, their efforts to escape and re settle in other Asian countries or in North America. Risking their lives crossing the border into China, North Koreans are assisted by LINKs partners there who facilitate their transport to South Korea, or to North America. The border between North and South Korea is virtually impenetrable, making the journey into China is necessary. LINK maintains shelters for the refugees, in which they are prepared for re-settlement.
