Deathly Matters is a one-day in-person community conference bringing together people and services to share resources, learn, and connect about death and dying. It showcases emerging voices and perspectives not readily found within the mainstream dialogue. This is a 19+event and requires registration at $145 plus taxes/fees.
The day includes an opening Keynote by Dr. Stefanie Green, 12 presentations, including Grief & Loss, Buddhist Death-Walking, Funny Side of Death, Doulas, MAiD, Home Funerals, Psychedelics, Swedish Death Cleaning, Ritual Practices, Medicalized Death, Disposition and Green Trends, and Navigating BC’s Health System.
Doing Death Different is a unique marketplace, exploring alternative approaches to end-of-life care, promoting a more conscious and holistic perspective. It is available to both conference attendees (included in the registration price) and the public (entrance fee required). This all-ages event is open to the public and does not require registration - tickets available at the door for $5.
Both provide opportunities to learn from others, ask questions, and share experiences in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere with a community of people who are also committed to doing death better.
