Edie DaPonte is an emerging Jazz and Latin singer entertaining audiences at local venues and concerts including the Victoria Jazz Festival and the Vancouver Latin Festival. She is the house singer at the Beacon Landing Lounge in Sidney performing regularly with a variety of accompanists including Joey Smith, Karel Roessingh, Damian Graham, Steve MacDonald and Tom Vickery.

Her first Bossa Nova album was recorded and produced at Baker Studios with award-winning producer, Joby Baker. Performing a versatile collection of well-loved songs, Edie sings in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. Guitarist Joey Smith toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra as bassist and arranger for two and a half years. He has also played with a long list of jazz luminaries which includes Cleo Laine, Herb Ellis, Rosemary Clooney, Charlie Byrd, John Dankworth, George Essihos, Karel Roessingh, Mark Atkinson, Daniel Lapp and CanUS.

In addition, he has appeared at numerous jazz festivals in Canada and the US, including a performance at Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. He works as an arranger and freelance musician playing bass and guitar with local traditional and contemporary jazz groups, and teaches at the Victoria Conservatory of Music.

Together Edie and Joey deliver an exquisite set of soulful Latin, Bossa Nova and jazz standards.
