With her sultry tones and soulful singing, Edie Daponte is establishing a reputation within the music scene of British Columbia as a dynamic and engaging performer. A regular performer as the house singer for the Beacon Landing, Edie has performed at festivals including the Victoria Jazz Festival, Tango Festival and Vancouver Latin Festival.
Emotive and passionate, Edie's voice lends itself perfectly to a wide range of jazz standards, seamlessly moving from bossa nova to jazz and and back again switching between Portuguese, Spanish and French language numbers with ease. Audiences have come to expect a wide variety of styles from Edie’s performances. Edie is excited to release her second studio album , Young at Heart. It's a collection of Edie’s own original material alongside some of fans' favourite standards. It reflects Edie’s passions including the west-coast of Canada, sailing and her personal relationships; all expressed through her other passion, music.
She'll be joined by stellar musicians from Victoria, Joey Smith on guitar/bass and Karel Roessingh on piano.
