Did you ever want to make your own video game? Teach a robot to tell your favourite jokes? Are you interested in learning about circuitry & electronics? Girls Learning Code and Makerspace Nanaimo have joined together to offer these fun activities on Sunday, June 19th (Father’s Day). This unique, tech focused event is for adult + child pairs, and is developed for children aged 7 - 11.
Register with your child for a full day, 10am - 2:30pm, or choose a two hour morning or afternoon session only & keep your Father's Day a little bit more open. Registration is online and by donation. “We want to make sure everyone who really wants to attend is able,” says Sarah Bromley, Chapter Lead of Girls Learning Code. “We are thankful to have sponsors and volunteers on board, and a donation of as little as $1.00 will get you into this amazing workshop!”
A Cash BBQ will run over lunch, provided by Makerspace Nanaimo volunteers. Due to the hardware requirements, there are a limited number of spaces available for this workshop - only 16 parent/child pairs for each session.
The Makerspace / Girls Learning Code organizing crew expect this workshop to fill up, and are advising parents to register in advance.
