Building a Mystery - For anyone considering writing in the Mystery genre.
What's so special about a mystery? Who will read it? What are the rules? There are an endless number of questions about mysteries, and an almost equal number of sub-genres. This workshop will look at all of them before it moves into the art of writing a mystery. Both informative and interactive, this workshop will assist participants to develop their own mystery protagonist.
Rachel (R.J.) McMillen is the author of three books, with a fourth, Green River Falling, to be released by Touchwood Editions in May 2016. Dark Moon Walking, the first book in the Dan Connor mystery series, was nominated for both the Edgar Award and the Kobo emerging writers award in the Genre (Mystery) category. Her poetry has appeared in numerous publications, including the recently released anthology All Our Words Needed Saying. Rachel currently teaches creative writing in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico.
