The Canadian Federation of University Women, Parksville/Qualicum branch (CFUWP/Q) will host a Global Connections forum at which Dr. Rhiannon Hughes of Port Alberni will be the keynote speaker. She will share her experiences in Haiti during the past five months where she worked in an obstetrics emergency unit in the capital city of Port-Au-Prince.
There are more than 50 Mid-Island groups engaged in humanitarian aid in developing countries covering a wide variety of exciting initiatives in the fields of health, education and social justice. Many will have displays at the event and there will be opportunities for audience interaction. If you want to learn more about the work of MSF and the strong active corps of volunteers from Nanaimo, to Comox, Oceanside to Alberni and beyond, we invite you to come to Global Connections.
