The Canadian Federation of University Women, Parksville/Qualicum branch (CFUWP/Q) will host a Global Connections forum at which Dr. Rhiannon Hughes will be the keynote speaker. She will share her experiences in Haiti during the past five months where she worked in an obstetrics emergency unit in the capital city of Port-Au-Prince.
There are more than 50 Mid Island groups engaged in humanitarian aid around the world. These groups cover a wide variety of exciting initiatives in the fields of health, education and social justice, Many will have displays at the event and there will be opportunities for audience interaction.
