The aviation industry accounts for up to 9% of human climate change impact, and the sector continues to grow rapidly. Since 1990, CO2 emissions from international aviation have increased 83 per cent.

The Boeing 787 is Boeing’s most fuel efficient airliner and the world’s first aircraft using composites as the prime airframe material. Always innovating, Boeing is now assessing a number of novel modifications to further improve the environmental performance at every flight stage through the ecoDemonstrator Program. This GreenTech Exchange Forum will focus on the Boeing ecoDemonstrator Program - the testing underway in Seattle, the new technologies and methods being applied and refined that relate to overall environmental and technology innovation for future commercial airplanes. About the Speaker: Jennifer-Ellen Holder is the ecoDemonstrator Test Platforms Manager at The Boeing Company located in Seattle, Washington.

Leading an integrated team of technologists and engineers working across the Boeing enterprise, Holder is responsible for the environmental and airplane development test program within the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Product Development organization.

With over 12 years in the aerospace industry, Holder has held engineering lead and management positions within Flight Test Engineering and Commercial Aviation Services for the 787-8 initial certification program. She has worked as a consultant with Microsoft and Delta Airlines on portable electronic devices used by flight crews. Jennifer earned her bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University in 2005, completed postgraduate studies in aerodynamics and flight controls at the University of Washington, and earned a Master's in Business Administration from Seattle University in 2014.
