Tommy Emmanuel, without question the greatest guitarist of our time, will perform in Victoria on May 15th, 2015. Tommy Emmanuel was a child prodigy and by the age of six he was already working as a professional musician. His music and life are legendary in his native Australia, where he is a household name.
He has recorded and performed with countless well known artists including : Air Supply, Men at Work, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Keith Urban, Eric Clapton (who has said that “he is the best guitarist I have ever seen”), Sir George Martin, Joe Walsh, Stevie Wonder, the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, and list goes on.
His awards and accolades are also endless. He has been Rolling Stone Magazine’s “Most Popular Guitarist” twice, has two CMAA “Golden Guitar” Awards, and is the only non-American to be inducted into the Thumb Pickers Hall of Fame in Muhlenberg, Kentucky, just to name a few. In recent years, Emmanuel has toured constantly as a solo act, often more than 300 dates a year. However, what really matters is how Tommy makes people feel when he performs.
With his powerfully charismatic persona and a simply untouchable musical virtuosity, Tommy draws his listeners into an incredible vortex of happiness from which they are content never to escape. Chet Atkins said, “You can’t watch Tommy play and not feel happy. I just love him.”
In addition to Victoria, this visit to Canada will also include concerts in Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto.
