Canadians coast to coast are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of our greatest poets, Irving Layton, who was born on March 12, 1912. Never before in Canadian history has this country united to remember � of all things! � one of its poets.
Victoria joins in the celebration featuring Doug Beardsley, Patrick Friesen, Eve Joseph, Mike Doyle, D.C. Reid, Susan McCaslin, Charles Tidler, Maureen Sawa, Linda Rogers, Stephen Scobie, Patrick Lane, Lorna Crozier, Iain Higgins, Tim Gosley and Richard Olafson. Each poet will read a favourite Layton poem. Music will be provided by Carol Ann Sokoloff and Rick van Krugel.
