Jane Austen fans -- we’re here for you! Port Alberni is home to the Central Vancouver Island region of JASNA (the Jane Austen Society of North America). We hold meetings and social events throughout the year, and we'd love to have you join us. Gentlemen and ladies all, don your Regency attire and share your passion for Austen and her era! RSVP please!

December 08 meeting & social- theme: Jane Austen’s Birthday

2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. General meeting (open to all) followed by a presentation by a chapter member on Birthdays in Regency Times.

Social follows. Join us for a “cuppa” and finger foods and a lively discussion on all things Regency and what joining our group would mean to you. Regency attire is not necessary but appreciated.

A plate of finger foods, savoury or sweet would be gratefully received.

*Background:*

The Central Vancouver Island Region of JASNA is the legacy of Port Alberni’s Jane Austen Festival (begun in 2015). The Festival was a project of the Centennial Belles, who found their Inner Austen and decided to share their interests throughout the year. Our JASNA Region was formally founded in 2018, joining the large family of Austen fans continent-wide. Events are held in year-round, at intervals of approximately six weeks (watch for our announcements).
