We all have them – the family secrets that cannot be spoken. For Marta Singh, the secrets were vast.
She grew up in Argentina when atrocities were occurring. But her family were “good people.” Her family could not “know.”
Then there was the fact that at sixteen and unmarried she became pregnant. That could not be spoken of either. The landscapes of silence grew ever more overwhelming. The silence reached out its tentacles; it swelled until she had to speak.
