Lemelin & Strauss: An Afternoon in Paris

Pianist Stéphane Lemelin and violinist Axel Strauss are guests at the UVic School of Music for An Afternoon in Paris. The duo will perform Lili Boulanger’s Deux Morceaux and Gabriel Fauré’s Violin Sonata No. 1. They will be joined by the Lafayette String Quartet for Ernest Chausson’s Concerto in D Major, Op. 21.
Pianist Stéphane Lemelin is well-known to audiences throughout Canada and regularly tours in the United States, Europe and Asia as soloist and chamber musician. He is Department Chair of Performance at McGill’s Schulich School of Music.
German violinist Axel Strauss, equally passionate about teaching and performing, joined the faculty of the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in 2012. Prior to moving to Montreal, he served as Professor of Violin and Chamber Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
