Lunarfest 2016 celebration - Year of Monkey

Year of Monkey, 2016 should be a year full of activities and adventurous. It's time to say good-bye to the goat and welcome the cute monkeys, some to meet with Monkey King and his friends. "Time to go Bananas"!

The former Taiwanese Lantern Festival in Cumberland has a new venue, it'll relocate and hold at native Sons Hall in Courtenay, Comox Valley. With a new location, some of fresh elements will add on to the event. Not only exhibition but more interaction with crowd, participants will have more hands on opportunities with eight artists from Taiwan and Vancouver. Crafts DIY, such as Monkey King, monkey banks, monkey fortune cookies, monkey bookmars, Chinese New Year Couplets, paper fans; and much more....

To celebrate Lunar New Year, food is a must element. Energy pumping ststion will be at the lower level of hall, the local Chinese restaurant will cater fresh food through a day. You don't want to miss it!

A ten metre long of lighted dragon will display at the hall, bring your camera to catch the memotary moment with your family and friiends. Some lighted lions audiences will see.

Most importantly, come to celebrate the Lunar New Year with Monkey King and his friends!
