Presented by Carol Armstrong, RMT
The emphasis is on what members and members of the community can proactively do to reduce their risk of developing lymphedema following cancer treatment. As well as minimizing the risk of lymphedema becoming a chronic issue. We discuss the early signs and symptoms, the importance of exercise, self-massage, edema management strategies, what members can do for themselves, and what resources are available in the community. We talk about the long term impact of lymphedema on the immune system and the challenge of managing it on a daily basis if it develops into an advanced stage.
