Maverick Cinema
Sanctuary, the five song debut of Vancouver Island Folk-Rockers Maverick Cinema, is an elegant harmony of loss, and acceptance. Written in a time of personal crossroads, Sanctuary takes you on a journey of sorrow, burden, growth, resolution, and ultimately that time always goes on, wether you want it to stop, or move faster. With emotional lyrics blended famously with foot stomping drum beats, and melodic guitars Sanctuary will grasp hold of you, and leave you wanting more. Giving the picture of vast British Columbian forests, and the fierce waves of the West Coast Maverick Cinema's first studio effort is truly a reflection of the place they call home.

Within the crashing waves of the West coast, and the breeze that tosses through the pines is where Maverick Cinema finds their bliss. It is a fine line between the whispering summer wind, and the roaring winter rain that voice the aspects of their sound. Influenced heavily by bands like Bon Iver, City and Colour, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Head and The Heart, they also share many similarities between Victorias Morning Show, and Towers and Trees. Maverick Cinema has shared the stage with notable music acts such as PEAK PREFORMANCE PROJECT TOP 12 acts Mike Edel, and Towers and Trees. They have also worked one on one with Mike Edel, and Juno Award winning Producer Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, New Pornogrophers) to create their debut EP.

Pacific Colours
Formed in late 2012 Pacific Colours is a blend of talents and genres that form the 5 piece indie/ alt rock sound that they are today. Playing lots in the Vancouver Island music scene Pacific Colours has played with The Mohrs, Hawking Noah Edwards. Their first/debut EP was released on February 17th 2015.

It all started when Guitar player Adam wanted to jam after a party with friends Marco, and Chase. When Adam introduced Spencer to the group they became a band and began to play a series of "Couch Concerts". These were events where close friends would come over and watch the group play. Finally bass player Dayton was added to the group and Pacific Colours became a band and began seeking out shows. After their debut EP was released they have been frequently travelling the island and going to the mainland to share their unique sound. The group has no sights of slowing down and will be continuing to write and record music.

Mike Edel
Even the title, India/Seattle feels like a story on it’s own. Victoria’s Mike Edel couldn’t have named his sophomore release more poetically.

Part of growing a little bit older, a little bit wiser is the awareness that comes inside growing spaces. Nearing thirty, on the exhaust of a brutal four year touring schedule, Edel settled inside these spaces to create his finest work yet. There’s a quiet here, even in the literal spaces in the record that speak loudly.

There’s something about the way Edel presents personal experiences in a way that project universal understandings. Love and beauty, pain and confusion, the knowledge that all precious things are only precious because they can be lost. It feels a little bit like growing up - like the moment when everything that felt so close as a young person is all of a sudden so far away. It’s the comfort in finding that you aren’t alone. There’s a humanity in these discoveries, and listening to India/Seattle feels like watching Edel discover it for himself, and the product is a little bit of each of us.
