The author, Helen Webster, will read selections from her recently published biographical novel, MEDICAL MAN, and describe the creation of the book, which examines the life of Dr. T. Robert Ross, a pioneer doctor who practiced medicine in the new province of Alberta, beginning in 1909.

His skill, knowledge and ingenuity allowed him to overcome vast prairie distances, early 20th century communication and transportation, and the ravages of the Great Depression while using medical technology that is archaic by today's standards.Webster will bring archival material to accompany the story.
