EVERYONE WELCOME.
Diane Bestwick will read from her novel, And A Bird Sang, about the one child law in China, on the 17th June at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 100 Chapel Street, at 7-8pm.
Diane recently lived and worked in China for eight years. Her close association with young Chinese colleagues, alerted her to the pressures of this law on their lives as well as the society as a whole. The novel traces the life of one Chinese wife who is faced with the anguish of obeying the law or listening to her own inner voice. Proceeds from the book are being given to several foster homes in China.
