Families, community members, champions for mental health, cyclists of all ages and skill levels from beginner to advanced are invited to participate in teams, or as individual riders. Invite your friends and co-workers to ride for mental health.
This year we have two cycling routes one for beginners & family and a more challenging ride for experienced riders. The beginner & family route has the option of a turn around at the half way point for riders who do not want to ride the full distance. All riders are expected to wear a helmet and follow the rules of the roads and trails.
-14.9km – The first ride meanders down the E&N Trail to Jinglepot Rd. and back on one of the most popular trails in Nanaimo. The paved trail is in an urban area and offers safe fun for cyclists of all ages and abilities. This ride has an option to go to the turn around point for younger riders.
-35.51km – This is a more challenging ride with three climbs through the East Wellington Jingle Pot area to Aulds Rd and back along Uplands to the E&N Trail. Riders need to be able to average 20km an hour for the average estimated time of 2 and 1/2 hours. The ride goes through both beautiful countryside and residential areas.

CMHA Mid-Island
The CMHA Mid Island Branch is dedicated to promoting mental health throughout the community through public education, supportive housing and homeless outreach, programs and events. Public education is provided to the community through having informational tables at various events in the community and a speaker series focused on building mental health. The branch has an outreach program that works with the homeless population to help them secure and maintain housing as well as running three housing facilities, two in Nanaimo and one in Courtenay for people with mental illness or addictions. The Pheonix Centre provides support, employment coaching and a social recreational activity oriented venue.
