NatureKids is a nature-based program for kids 3-12 years and their families. Next Explorer Day is a day in the garden...planting, potting, learning about bees. Come and help plant lettuces, carrots and other greens. Then there will be bee stories and bee observation with Ted.
After snack, we'll have you pot up some seeds to take home to your own garden. Special Attractions: Bee Friendly Composting on site Shared garden shed with equipment for members' use Garden Pals horticultural program for children
Purpose:
Promote quality of life through gardening
Promote back yard food production as a basic life skill
Provide a venue for community development Provide individual garden allotments for personal use
Provide communal garden allotments for local food security
Promote horticultural education Participate in and support community events
The gardens are maintained by volunteers (the gardeners and others) who grow organic vegetables for their own use and to help out local food programs.
