Let the The Ladysmith Players treat you to an entertaining evening or afternoon with the widely acclaimed tale of On Golden Pond. The story was made famous with the 1981 American drama film by renowned actors Henry Fonda, Katherine Hepburn, and Jane Fonda. And the Ladysmith Theatre's rendition has its' own cast of power-house central island actors include Joanne MacIntosh (cast member of the 2009 South Island Award winning show, Cemetery Club), Ted Girard, Bobbi Rowntree, Nicholas Croome, John Orpe and Dean Chadwick.

The story follows a retired professor, Norman Thayer, as he makes his annual pilgrimage with his wife, Ethel, to their New England summer cottage. Their solitude is interrupted when their daughter, Chelsea, arrives with her beau, Bill, and his 13 year old son, Billy, in tow. The daughter persuades her parents to take care of the boy while she goes on vacation with her friend. The cranky professor and 'punk' Billy Jr. do not hit it off immediately but, on 'golden' pond anything is possible!!
