The Central Vancouver Island Orchid Society Meeting. A talk by Samantha Chande on "Should I grow semi-hydro?" This presentation explores the hows and whys of growing orchids semi hydroponically. If you’ve ever lost an orchid to over or under-watering, this simple technique may be for you.
Samantha Chande is a window-sill orchid grower who manages to keep most of her orchids alive, and even sometimes reblooms them. She has kept orchids alive in the dry winter air of Calgary, dusty, air conditioned apartments in the Middle East, lashed to trees in East Africa, and on windowsills across BC.
Free admission. Also a Display of Orchids in Bloom put on by members of the club. 50/50 draw, prize draw, orchid supplies for sale, library, get help with your orchid questions.
