Panel Discussion: Women in Politics and the Politics of Women at St. Ann's Academy Wednesday, February 28, 2018, 7.30pm - 9.00pm


In collaboration with the Faculty of Education, University of Victoria, the Society of Friends of St. Ann's Academy will be hosting the next panel discussion of their Critical Conversation Series on Wednesday, February 28. The discussion that will focus on the experiences of women working in the political realm, will take place at St. Ann's Academy (auditorium) and is open to everyone in the local community.


Dr. Catherine McGregor, Associate Dean at the University of Victoria in the Faculty of Education will Chair the panel discussion. As a leadership scholar she believes that "now is a critical juncture in politics and exploring the paths women have taken as political leaders can inspire women of all ages to take up this vital role". The panel will include: Marianne Alto, Councillor; Maurine Karagianis, Retired MLA; Bowinn Ma, MLA for North Vancouver-Lonsdale; and Hon. Jinny Sims, Minister of Citizens' Services.


Join us in this intimate conversation with leaders about gender, gender politics, and the potentiality afforded by women who lead with purpose.
