Peace Walk 2016 in Port Alberni

Join us for Port Alberni's annual Peace Walk.  Bring yourself, your family, your friends -- and a peace symbol, banner or sign that expresses your personal wish for peace.  Meet outside Glenwood Centre.  We will depart at 11:30 am for the walk to Abbeyfield.

11:15 am - Meet outside Glenwood Centre

11:30 am - Walk to Abbeyfield begins (easy pace)

12:00 noon - Abbeyfield (lower hall)

1:00 pm - lunch at Guru Nanak Sikh Temple

NOTE: Glenwood Centre will be closed (washrooms not available).

Route: Walk from Glenwood to Abbeyfield via 10th Avenue (enter Abbeyfield via 8th Avenue basement door). Those who have difficulty walking are welcome to meet at Abbeyfield at noon.

Abbeyfield entrance: off 8th Avenue, via back door. Wheelchair accessible (ramp and stairs in place) To respect residents' privacy, please do not use front door (off Redford).

Activities at Abbeyfield: short introduction by organizers, then open mic on peace theme. Lunch follows at 1:00 pm at Guru Nanak Sikh Temple, offered by members of the congregation. Head coverings are available at the temple, or bring your own scarf.
