Candlelight Tribute Ceremony
Date: November 10th
Time: 3:30pm
Place: The Qualicum Beach Legion Cenotaph - 180 Veterans Way
The Candlelight Tribute Service was started in 1995 in the Netherlands when Dutch children laid lit candles on the graves of Canadian soldiers, leaving them burning overnight in silent tribute to the fallen. Since that time, these tributes have increased in Europe and here in Canada. The candles that we use are made in the Netherlands specifically for this purpose. The subtle glow of these candles, especially when placed in numbers, creates a solemn and unforgettable image for the evening of Remembrance.
The public is welcome to participate. Candles can be purchased at the Legion for $3.50.
