Some girls just seem to be born with inner strength and power. They seem to take risks easily, say what they think and feel without trepidation and just appear to be comfortable in any type of situation. Others… not so much. Why is this the case? Newer brain research is showing that your personality and temperament are related to parts of your brain, especially those parts that are in the lower part of the brain called the limbic system. Every girl comes into the world with some predisposition in terms of grit, resilience and confidence. Newer research is showing that these core characteristics are somewhat plastic or changeable... especially in the first two decades of life. This is extremely important information for parents of girls.
