�Cogito ergo sum.� I think, therefore I am, as Descartes penned. We all think, but not in the same way. Wikipedia lists about 170 different thought processes. There are slide shows on the internet describing 10 different styles of thinking. Critical thinking is what everyone claims to be the process that gets us the answers we need. What do you think or, more importantly, how do you think?

The Comox Valley Humanists invite you to a discussion with Ray Grigg titled �Shades of Thinking�. It will be held at the Little Red Church (2182 Comox Avenue, Comox) on Saturday, May 17th at 2 pm. Ray Grigg Ray Griggis the author of six internationally sold books on Taoism and Zen, and has been a serious student of Eastern Philosophy for more than 45 years. Prior to writing professionally since 1985, he was a teacher in senior secondary schools in British Columbia, teaching principally English and English literary history but also designing and teaching courses in fine arts, cultural history and comparative world religions.

Besides writing books, he contributes a weekly environmental column, Shades of Green, to a Vancouver Island newspaper and also interviews for a local TV channel. He is a former director on the Advisory Council for The Centre For Studies in Religion and Society at the University of Victoria. He continues to give occasional presentations and workshops on Taoism and Zen.
