Sacred Space: Honouring Creation and Community runs from July 12-27, 11 AM – 5 PM with an opening reception Friday July 12 at 6 pm. Don't miss this opportunity to witness Joe’s artistry and transformative journey through clay at Nanaimo Ceramic Arts, 115 Chapel St. Downtown Nanaimo.
Joe's journey with clay began in Seattle, Washington, where his passion for pottery took root. Joe took an informal apprenticeship with Dean McRaine at Lighwave Pottery in Kauai for 4 years. Since then, he has immersed himself in the world of ceramics, working out of his home studio space and sharing his techniques and ideas with students at Nanaimo Ceramic Arts, The Hub in Cowichan, local schools and Brentwood College.
In this special exhibition honoring creation and community, Joe presents a selection of sculptural and functional works that embody his deep connection to the craft. Each work of art tells a story of creativity and craftsmanship nurtured over years of artistic exploration. His belief in the healing power of ceramics resonates throughout his work, fostering both relaxation and community building.
