VIU Science and Technology Lecture Series: The Legacy of Glaciation in Canada
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
In this free public lecture, Dr. Lesemann will debunk the myth that glaciers are lumbering masses of ice that grind rocks and ‘bulldoze’ sediments. He will examine how the legacy of glaciation can be reconstructed and tell us about the changes that occurred during the last ice age. He will present glaciers as fascinating geomorphic agents that have created a significant geologic legacy by producing a type of ‘blueprint’ that conditions the location and availability of groundwater, the type and occurrence of landslides and exploration for mineral and aggregate resources.
