This three-hour seminar/question period presented by the Vancouver Island Strata Owners Association (VISOA) will help you understand the strata documents every buyer should review, give you useful facts about the Strata Property Act and more.

Topics to be covered include:

• Why is a condo or townhouse called a strata?

• What are your Realtor’s responsibilities?

• Do you really have to read all those strata documents?

• What does “Strata Plan” really mean?

• What are bylaws and rules? Do you really have to follow them?

• Monthly fees – what is included, and what is not?

• Who pays for repairs?

• What are your duties and responsibilities?

• What are the limitations of the strata corporation’s insurance?

• Professionally managed or self-managed – what is the difference?

• What about disputes and complaints?
