Opportunity for change

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world” – M.Ghandi

This conference will provide an opportunity for youth to gain empowering skills and tools allowing them to take action towards positive change in their community and the world. Youth who are passionate about making positive change and want to come together with ideas of how to create change.

The objective

“Education is the most powerful tool with which you can use to change the world” – N. Mandela

Educating youth is one of the most valued objectives of The Didi Society. A local non-profit organisation, The Didi Society has a vision to promote sustainable international development by empowering women globally and educating locally – envisioning a more fair, just and equitable world for all. A holistic and permanent change at the global level needs to include local awareness about the global impact our local decisions have. The most effective way to bring a change locally is through youth.

Facilitation for youth, by youth

The conference, to be held at Central Middle School, will be facilitated by youth who are completing The Didi Society’s Social Justice Youth Leadership certification training. Having expanded their knowledge on these specific social justice issues, this will platform an exciting day of ideas, conversations and change creation.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead
