As the battles intensified all across the Front in the first year of the Great War, a miracle occurred which was unexplainable. On Christmas Eve the guns fell silent and both sides crawled out of their trenches to greet each other as fellow soldiers instead of bitter enemies.
The HMCS ALBERNI Museum and Memorial’s exhibit on the Great War and the Christmas Truce runs through January 13 in our main hallway and inside the William Leslie Wing of the museum. Admission is by donation.
Special Night in the Museum Movie Night screening of JOYEUX NOEL held every Wednesday evening in December at 7:00pm. Admission is by donation and seating is extremely limited. Reservations required.
HAMM will be open Boxing Day 10:00am – 4:00pm. HAMM is now located in downtown Courtenay at 625 Cliffe Avenue (Tulio’s Plaza) with entrances at Cliffe Avenue or 6th Street.
