The Cowichan Poetry Circle will host a discussion and reading of William Blake, mystic genius, poet, painter, printmaker and psychologist. Bring your favourite poem from Blakes Songs of Innocence and of Experience (or the complete book(s) if you have a copy or can borrow one from the library) to recite. The two books have been published in combination and separately
The intent of the Cowichan Poetry Circle is to create a venue and opportunity for poetry aficionados to share and amplify their enthusiasm for and knowledge of this increasingly undervalued art form. Poets and poems from Beowulf to John Ashbery will be read and discussed, augmented by poetic classics read by masters such as Richard Burton, James Mason, Alec Guinness, John Gielgud etc. The times, dates and topics or themes of meetings and courses will be regularly posted on the Schedule page. News, reviews and links of interest to poetry lovers will be regularly published on the blog. Clicking on the Follow button in the bottom, right-hand corner of the blog will keep you updated via email whenever a new blog has been posted.
