The band celebrated their 45th Anniversary in style with the release of their 2014 Juno Award winning album “Can You Hear The Music.” With such classic hits as “Flip Flop & Fly”, “I Got Everything I Need (Almost)” and “Shotgun Blues”, The Legendary Downchild Blues Band have not only made a major impact here at home but around the world, alongside their contemporaries, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker and Buddy Guy, with their sweet, infectious sound, that’s sure to get your toes tapping and hips swinging.
Perhaps best known as the inspiration for Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi’s hit film The Blues Brothers, The Legendary Downchild Blues Band are sounding and performing better than ever!

2016 Juno nominated blues guitarist and Nanaimo’s favourite son, David Gogo will kick things off for Downchild with his not to be missed solo performance in support of his new album “Vicksburg Call”. Known as a savvy interpreter, Gogo uses his sophisticated ear to select covers songs that compliment his powerful originals on the album. Throughout his illustrious career performing around the world, David has shared the stage with some of his heroes like Johnny Winter, B.B. King, Otis Rush, Albert Collins and Bo Diddley and support the likes of George Thorogood, ZZ Top, Buddy Guy and Jimmy Vaughan to name a few.
